You may be eligible. CIS usually requires 4 years of university-level education for a degree, or 3 years experience for every one year missing from a 4-year degree. An educational evaluator could say for certain if you have the equivalent of a US bachelor's degree.

My friend Tamar Jacoby has an excellent editorial in today's Los Angeles Times providing an overview of the current political landscape for comprehensive immigration reform: The problem: Left and right not only frame their arguments differently, they also disagree on matters of substance. Most significantly, unions question whether the country needs reform that creates more visas for immigrant workers to enter the country in the future, while employers who hire foreigners say they can't sustain their businesses without them. The question for the months ahead: Will these differences undo the reform movement, or will left and right find ways to...

From the Immigration Policy Center: Supreme Court Protects Immigrants' Access to Court Review January 20, 2010 Washington D.C. - The American Immigration Council applauds today's U.S. Supreme Court decision ensuring that immigrants facing deportation have fair process in the review of their cases. The Court ruled that individuals who seek to reopen their deportation orders have the right to appeal to the federal courts if the immigration court refuses to hear the appeal. The Court's decision protects immigrants' access to federal court review and affirms the role of the courts in our system of checks and balances on government power....

Hello.
I will be needing a new re-entry permit(i-131) while renewing my green card and i was wondering if it was possible.
I am going to study back in my home country for 4yrs.
first 2yrs(2010-2012), i am going back with reentry permit.
after 2yrs(2012), i am going back to USA for 6months to renew my green card(going to expire in 2012) and reapply for a new reentry permit.
If i wont have time to get my new green card, i am possibly thinking of going back to my home country for 5 months and going back to USA for 2 wks (to retain green card status) and again, going back to my homecountry for 3 months.
Would going back and forth to my homecountry and USA will affect me from losing my green card?
Any advise will be helpful. Thank you!

Hi Guys,
My wife is going to go to school this August for her masters. I am on H1 she is here on H4 and My I 140 is cleared. Now my question is
1> Is it possible for her to convert to F1 (she is still not part of the GC process we haven't filed I 485)?
2> What is the process to get this conversion of status done?
3> How long does it take? (we live in California and she will be going to school in CA as well.)
4> I understand that for her to get OPT she should be on F1 but does it matter for how long she has to be on F1?
5> Just change of status is enough of would she need to get F1 Stamped?
Thanks a zillion for helping us out.

I am an Indian, currently working in Saudi Arabia. Just paid my IV fee to NVC, and waiting for Package-3. As far I understand regards to Police Clearance Certificate, I need to get Police Clearance from
1. Indian embassy from Saudi Arabia (as Saudi PCC are not available for third country citizen residing in the kingdom) and
2. Local and District police stations from India, where I stayed more than 06 months.
As per Indian embassy web site to apply for PCC, need Letter from Embassy which has asked for Police Clearance Certificate (where from I can get this letter??)
I heard from my friends, its very hard to get PCC form local and District police office in India for NRIs (anybody experienced similar situation, please just guide us/ is it take time?? )
One more doubt , is it possible get police clearance without Package-3 (? Any special form for PCC in Package-3)
Thanks you very much for your help & guidance in advance.

Animal portraits are my "thing", so I don't mean to be overcritical... Try to get the animal's face in the light. The rooster's a good subject, and you got down to rooster height, which is really good, and you got him when crowing - a great behavior. Unfortunately, the face is in shadow, and that means you don't get the "catchlight" sparkle in the eye. Also, you often don't get the eye quite in focus, since autofocus works on contrast. A lot of faults in a protrait can be overlooked if the eye is sharp. In this case, you're focused on the neck feathers, not quite on the eye, so if you can reshoot it, try for getting light in the eye, and I think you'll like the results even more. Good luck & have fun with it!
