Hi All!
I live in LA and would love to be a part of the SoCal community.
I'm waiting to apply for the I485. I heard from my attorney second week of June that USCIS has expedited the process and we need to file by end of July. I got my medical done in a rush and then we hear they're not going to accept applications. Any idea how long the medical remains valid?

My pain is similar to yours buddy mine also took 6 months to file. The VB is now an monthly sadness event, even my wife is waiting for EAD, in the current time its almost impossible to get a job if one needs sponsorship read H1, despite being well qualified and having work experience. Also if we have EAD you probably would not have to go through H1B Extension (RFE's), I had to undergo this as well, fortunately my stamping was smooth. Until our day comes we just have to wait, I think the only chance is the new proposed 485 filing procedure when its implemented.

but the proposed 2 tier system has been pushed from this december to next June 2010 (i.e 6 months) as of now, not sure whether they will come up with it at least in June...
Lot of people are waiting to file their final step....They should start allowing to file 485 at least one year after based on their work load and based on their pre adjudication....

BTW why is the third person the most difficult to get? If my memory serves me correct, it is easy to start a round and also close it. Where are you 'the elusive third'?

In suport of the view they are totally chaotic: RIR here, priority date is in April 2002, 45-day letter was received & replied to in February 2005 (15+ months ago), heard nothing from them since then. Lawyer started process for 7th year extension.

He is 100% right. Unless USCIS hire people, our EADs and APs will get delayed. People like me have travel plans in Jan. I do not want to go for Visa stamping. I am concerned.

I think more than 90% of companies in service industries have more than 50% emps in H1/L1. The fees may be indirectly passed to the employees in terms of cut in salary or cut in profit sharing.

Well, so far so good for me. As per Zillow estimate, my home value is now 10k more than my purchase price. It depends on where you're buying.
I guess that when the economy starts climbing up and people starts buying houses, interest rate will also climb up to 6%. At 6%, I need to pay $400 more per month.

I have been asked to send ADIT photographs not computer photographs?
Anybody knows what ADIT means???

I just read that ADIT photographs used to be the norm till 2004,is it changing again from passport style photos to ADIT?The RFE I received for my AP clearly asking for ADIT photographs.Now where do I get these ADIT photographs???Any ideas.URGENT Please.

for handsfree , you could either do it through accountant or legalzoom.com once you set up the company, you need to get your Federal tax id for the company, then file for any local city business license ( few cities have that requirement), Open a bank account...

While IV is a big organization with 20K+ members, I haven't seen the transparency, All I have seen is tons of threads being created requesting members to donate money, However Is there any transparency in the way the money is being spent the answer is a Big NO.
Is IV a big organization ? Yes. Definitely. With more than 20K members it is a big org.
But what transparency do you or we need about contribution money ?
Overall I had not seen monthly contribution going more than 2 - 3 K per month in last 3 years. And I think that would be enough to maintain the server and software cost, that too if spend very carefully. Cause we have more threads than contributions and it does costs to maintain and keep servers / Software up.

Do I need to know the expenditure report ? My answer would be NO.

There are about 18K CP cases.
Yeah but if the PDs are set as unavailable, what can they do about those cases anyway, as the priority date has to be current on the day of approval in the consulate.
Furthermore, unlike with 485s they can't consular process 18K cases on a Sunday! It is not a centralised process for them to do that.
