I also wanted to send the letter, but saw a ton of comments on the original letter. It would be a good idea, if some one goes thru the comments and update the letter in the original post. I think we should all send a decent letter.

i support your efforts and have printed out and sent letters to the people mentioned. Momentum for release of information should build up even if we have 50-100 letters from affected people...otherwise people won't know of EB-3 IND's plight.
I suppose we should followup with phone calls in 15 days to cement our request. We should have a poll on who all has sent the letter and made the call.

I don't think so. Eventhough they make U in september bulletin. They have to move dates in October bulletin because of new visa numbers.
Yes there will be dates in Oct. but will that be 2006 Jan.? That is what karanp25 means.
And answer is it probably will not be. We can look back the bulletin on May and June 2007. Are they match Oct. 2007 bulletin ?

My company applied for PERM ALC EB-2 category at Atlanta on 18th June 2007, got it approved on 20th June. Received hard copy on 26th June.
can people also give idea how long/when u got the certified hard copy of approval esp if from atlanta

filed LC in 2003 thinking it would be useful to stay on H1 as long as possible!! and the rest is on my profile..
I wonder if anybody thinks it makes sense to create a law which simply says after 15 (or some X years) of legal presence in the US you will be given a GC no matter the back ground! In that way we know exactly where the deadline is irrespective of some government agency's whim.

I think USCIS might be busy with approving I485 cases of EB2-India/China. From October it might be on track. For most of cases, approving I140 immediately is not going to help applicant as he has to wait for I485 as per priority date.

Well you knew wrong. As long as you stayed in the US for more than 183 days in 2007, you are a resident for tax purposes.
If you are falling short of the 183 day requirement, you can opt to fulfill the 183 day requirement by counting 1/2 of the days of the prior year (2006) or 1/3rd of the days of the year before that (2005) that you were physically present in the US.

For all those who are upset with the House hearing, please take it easy. Please do not expect the hearing to discuss the details of each and every GC applicant's case. The objective of the hearing was to bring the folks involved in visa bulletins and GC processing, and make them all publically say and agree that Lofgren-Sensenbrenner bill will not flood the country with new people on the borders but at the same time since the federal agencies did not do their job properly, so it would make sense to recapture the visa numbers, and that's it.
I think that this objective was achieved pretty handsomely without much opposition. So everybody was on the same page, other than Ranking member King, whose job in such meetings is to oppose whatever the committee chair is proposing. Rep. King did not have much to say as Rep. Sensenbrenner has co-sponsored the bill. Noticeably, Rep. Gutierrez supported the bill, which means Hispanic Caucus may not oppose it either, hopefully. So it was all good.
Hope this comes true.

Can you start a thread to decide about the meeting places for the state / city chapters so that members can gather and discuss.
This is more effective in addition to the postings on the forum.
You can selectively decide some meeting places for each state /city chapter
Post it for voting
Finalize the meeting schedules (like weekly meeting/monthly meeting)
Make it a regular event so that postings / thoughts can culminate into actions.

How does removing the cap from Schedule A, benefit the rest of us?
Nurses from India, Phi also eat up EB3 numbers beyond their alloted .... My understanding is that they will not compete for any eB3 numbers after this...

It is easy and potentially justifiable to feel some frustration. As it relates to the green card, I am in a similar situation to most who visit and share their views on this board.
I view the Universe and everything that is contained therein to be perfect - there can be no imperfections. I find comfort in that thought and focus my attention on the following:
feeling grateful for all that I have; doing my work to the best of my ability; taking the risks I believe I should take; being resilient; enjoying my life more; being patient; caring more; comparing less
This is merely a statement of my beliefs - this works for me. It is not intended to offend anyone nor is it a solution to anyone's woes.

Moreover since you are already filed 485 and its more than 6 months you are secure.
For rest the situation is precarious

1. Pick up x number of files using a random algorithm.
2. Arrange these files in a random order using the same random algorithm
followed in step 1.
3. Randomly pick any file arranged in step 2.
4. Toss a coin.
5. On odd dates if it is heads,approve the file. On even dates if it is tails
approve it.
6. If file is not approved in step 5 put it on the shelf to be picked up
in step 1 in next cycle.
I can only hope you are wrong :). I hope they sort first by PD and then by RP.
