hi! i am a physical therapist on h1b...all this news abt retrogression is too scary...i had a few qs:
what is the scenario for someone like me who would file I-140 in the next couple of months?
what are the chances of Schedule A being alloted additional visa numbers in the next 2 years?
how much wait time would be expected under EB 3 category for India for someone whose priority date wud b oct or nov'07???

That means your son is also able to file 485, right? In that case he will not age out once an AOS is submitted for him. I am assuming your 140 will be approved before he turns 21.

Yes I believe paperwork will be filed for all my dependants concurrently. Does it even matter when the I140 is approved?
It seems that under the new law his cutoff date is Jun 1 since that is when my priority date will be current so as long as he applies for a green card within one year he is ok.
So if we apply concurrently when is his green card application deemed to have been applied for? When we file concurrently or only when and if the 140is approved.
What do you think?

Keep aside porting the PD between EB3 to EB2.
Just try this
Say, you wanted to buy tickets to a show or travel, there are more than one counter which is issuing tickets. You have to choose some line at random. Obviously like the people Pallavi79 choose a line which is shorter in length. After some time person observed that other line is moving fast so wanted to jump to that line. Thats fine. If you try to jump into middle of the other line based on your time entered into 1st line. If you are demanding the position...Think the situation??

I don't think so. Eventhough they make U in september bulletin. They have to move dates in October bulletin because of new visa numbers.
I can understand the excitement. I am also in EB2 2005 PD. But the fact is that, this seems like a temporary movement only...i don't think dates can stay at 2006, going by simple math.
PPl can give me those red marks, but i think dates will retrogress again by Oct.

I would recommend to shop around more. There are some banks who ask quetions such as visa status and other documentation and then there are some which don't. In my case; Citibank quoted for 0.5 additional rate due to my visa status but ING didn't.

i came to US in 1999.since 99 i gave my half of the savings for expenses of my father like my sister wedding ,bought a new car and others which my dad think should be in the house as his son is in US(social status).if i would be in india i would never had think of that.for me GC is freedom card to change job ,my wife can work and i live happy life.I think now it is not possible for me to work in india inspite of tremondous growth.as the expectation of the family members is too much now and because those must be the first one whom i have to explain that why i am coming back to india.so i think there is no way going back until you are forced to do that.i don't miss my family as i talk to them daily and i can ask them to travel here any time i want.its not 60s and 70s in which you have to think several times before visiting india.so my suggestion whatever the decision you make just belive in yourself.explore all the options before making any decision.

Just as you took initiative to post this message...Start a Poll of who are willing to Join you with this initiative--Of Donating to IV,with this one-point agenda.
Once you have 5-10 people behind you and you look serious enough, IV can guide you with your initiative. As you might know already that there are no full-time employees in IV to pickup requests.
I totally understand that you would want to "part" with money only with some kind of promise. That's totally normal. But, just to get your 'Donation', IV or any member will/can not make any false promises.
After I-140 approval if we are allowed to file 485 that will give us big relief, Willing to contribute big time if IV can make this part of its agenda

So this actually supports my point. There is no "loophole" to close.
I recommend my friends snathan and swissgear to avoid actions based on jealousy over people just like yourself. But hurting them you hurt yourself

Please let me know how this so called multinational executives are getting compensated. Whats the stock/option given to these executives. The available information shows only three days of extended stay and one week of car which they need to share with other executives. Fortunately the extended stay suites come with attached rest room. Otherwise they need to share with other multinational executives. There would be long queue in front of the shared room and eventual back log...

I am least bothered about how/what they are paying to their executives. when they are exploiting the system, its you and me are the one getting affacted. Otherwise these would have trickled down as spillover.

I do not know if USCIS is going with receipt date or any procedure. My Receipt date is June 27, 2007. Notice date is August 9, 2007. My case is not touched either till now.

Instead of hiring a full time lobbyist why dont we hire a full time manager who will contact IV members and drive funding drives , organize campaigns , send and spam USCIS with emails flowers and faxes and keep it moving. My suggestion for everyone reading this is - do not send this information to your Company or HR department. They could ask us to table this additional cost. I work for Accenture so I hope that this does not apply to my employer with less than 50% employees on visa. But I'm not going to write to them asking about this because they may turn around asking us to eat this new cost.
