I know I might get bashed over this - but I don't see the so called "freeloaders" like me to be worthless as donors often tend to accuse.
In the past, I have doled out valuable information.... and have taken pains to scan my RFE and post it with detailed explanations etc for the benefit of the community. I have replied to people to the best of my knowledge and participated in numerous mailing campaigns. While those efforts may not be even close to what others have done here, I do believe that donations should be just that 'donations' and not turn that into a 'membership'.
Already I see people asking for exceptions "I have done xyz so I should get free access etc". I'm with that other 'donor' who said that we have enough divisions in our community already.
Keep in mind that by giving such an incentive to pay, you are also giving a disincentive for people to participate and share their data and their valuable experiences (thats not freeloading!).

IV has had its first big success this year and we should all be proud of what we can all do. We worked hard and left no stone unturned to get this relief for our members. During the last few days there has been some movement on the National Defense Authorization Act and work on DREAM and SKIL provisions. While we were fully focused on the 485 relief, we did not lose sight of the developments. We have built a positive momentum and have been getting positive signals from key lawmakers. It is now upto us how we can seize the opportunity and focus on the lobbying efforts on legislative front. After seeing the overwhelming support of our members we are also encouraged to move ahead with full steam and explore the possibility of our provisions in the upcoming legislative activities. We also need to explore any other future movement on legislative front. Please join us in this struggle by signing up for $50 or more per month recurring contributions. This minimum amount is important for us to accomplish the kind of results we all desire. The failure of CIR and the political climate against immigration are making the task difficult but not impossible.
Monthly $50 sign ups will enable us to have a better idea on the funds for the coming months and we can plan our efforts better.

Not a single penny has been reimbursed to him for his trips to DC, food and stay in DC or car rental in DC. We in the core team know this and when we see the kind of contributions we get from members, we feel disappointed that our efforts are not valued. When we started the $20 contributions people felt $20 was too high and wanted $10 per month or less. Sometimes reading posts that say IV core is selfish also disappoints us. People do not know the effort that goes in getting anything done. I also received RFE for my application. I am EB3-India with PD of Oct 2003. The RFE was about missing signatures on 2 forms (though I could see my signature there; I just re-signed those) and missing I-94s.

If we wait the way there are predicting it may not be worth!! because your may get a green card in 1....n years but the time you have spent can't be rewind for the things you have planned for previous years to implement. Since the back home economy is getting better we may be able to add our effort to take it to next level and make the maximum of this time.

I have pending 485, used Bank of America for my home loan. No problems whatsoever. And, I know loads of people who have bought homes while on H1B or pending 140/485. I believe 2009-2011 will probably be the best time to buy a home. If you can afford it and if you have job security, then you must buy one (rent it if you dont want to live). The aprs available currently is unbelievable (of course, good credit history and the amount you put down will decide mainly).
Did you have unexpired H1B / I-94? In my case I am on EAD / pending I-485 / AOS (expired H1 / I-94) & BOA didn't approve.

Did any of you get the same letter with the same content below .........what baffles me is the last sentence that says "The application will be reopened and the processing continued. Once the processing is completed, you will receive a notice under separate cover."

Looks like magic........Whoever has been working on my case from the past three months made a huge reversal decision in just a few hours on 05/14/2009 afternoon with atmost attention........I like this sudden surge in commitment and care on my case.......

Its very interesting reading everyone's stories. To me GC represents freedom. Freedom to work for whom you want to, in a field you want to, not to work for someone you don't want to. Just wanted to know your thoughts on this. CNN has launched the first ever cnn-youtube debate and the deadline to submit videos is 7/22.. Users have to basically upload their questions on youtube and some of these questions will be selected and democratic presidential candidates will have to answer these questions.
I know its kinda late, but why not upload videos on youtube asking questions about legal immigration to the candidates? i think it will be a great way of bringing out our problems further in the mainstream... if you think this is a good idea, we may have to act on it fast... we dont have much time.
