My PD : 10/04. I got 45 days letter in May last week as per attorney.
My attorney is Stupid . She never gives any information and says it is the property of employer( Even LIN numbers)
I don't know when they can approve my labour.

I never came here to study. Have you heard of IIT/REC's in India. I understand there are other colleges/universities in india which your are describing here or u might have studied there but same is true for US as all universities are not A grade. There is a way to tell the fact, not to exaggerate and that too by an indian. if an american say this i can understand that he is ignorant about the facts.

Just because we are here does not mean we have to go out of the way to either short-sell our respective motherlands or indulge in trash talk about our home country to make us look more "american". And FYI - quotas are no different from affirmative action.
In fact, i read either in NY Times or Wall Sreet Journal a couple of days back that Japan is now "in awe" of indian basic school education and latest fad in Tokyo is Indian schools or schools that use Indian teaching methodology and employ indian teachers.

9years: So finally did you have to send the interfiling request, or they approved it automatically.
- My EB2 140 got approved 2 weeks ago (with July 03 PD), but still no LUD on my 485.
- I placed a Service Request last week on my pending 485, which resulted in a soft LUD on my EB2 140 but nothing on 485.

first: indulging in a completely useless dicussion
this is your prerogative but this forum really does have a purpose and a well defined goal. it behoves those who use it to be aligned with the goals of the organization, not completely obsessed with a receipt that is at best a tiny way station in a long journey.
second and this needs undivided attention- and rereading as many times as needed: personal attacks, offensive language and divisive fueds are against the policy of this forum. if you have a problem with this, read the posting guidelines. make sure you understand them completely.
third: junior and senior is nothing but a representation of the number of posts from a member. if the posts are nothing but self obsessed rantings, then senior is just a word that means nothing. posts can be approved or disapproved by members using the tools above. this results in green or red squares in front of a members name. that may be a better representation of other members opinions than just the number of posts.
fourth: those who live in glass houses do not ...do a lot of things frankly. you cannot complain about other's language or content if yours fails to meet the same criteria. i urge you to be civil in your tone and choose your words carefully. we are here to be a one united community working to end retrogression. not to rave and rant about each other, take or make sides, threaten (with what?), or endlessly obsses about dates and notices.
please by all means track your progress and give and take information.

Well, if they wasted more than 1,000 visas, I am going to write and call everyone on my list. Don't tell me they can't manage to appove 140K visas a year, or they are overloaded with work - USCIS approves a total of more than 1M green cards a year, so let's not pretend they do not have the capacity.

I agree with the posts to a certain extent but the last time we sent mass letters only 5000 letters were collected. A couple of people were responsible for collecting 500-1000 letters each. You can caculate the percentage of letter writers of the who actually sent out the letters.
We talk about num usa etal.. bear in mind they have lots of resources and volunteers willing to call and write letters. We keep fighting about EB3 Vs EB2, red dots and green dots and other 'important' issues, very few actually make the calls. The ones who work, keep working while others demand answers as to why issues are not fixed, the rest of us just like discussing issues to death on the forums... just my 2 (pick your denomination).

I think we should send mass letters to all the involved agencies with posters. 2009 is VERY OPTIMISTIC. Why would a new administration take up "touchy" issue like immigration in its 1st year (2009)? Least we can expect is 2010 IF NOTHING HAPPENS BY MID NOVEMBER - Congress goes to recess for the year.The window of opportunity is short!

I dont see anything about the law suit on OH site.
Can someone explain what "Temporary Restrain Order" would do if it were successful. It sounds to me that the lawsuit is asking the court to temporarily invalidate the July visa bulletin so that USCIS will be forced to accept the applications. Is this a reasonable understanding? Any lawyers here?

Hi,
Can we use the I-485 receipt notice for extension of DL for my wife. She was on H4 which expires Oct 20. She plans to use the EAD card to work and we will not extend her H4 unless EAD does not come before Oct 20. She got a letter from DMV yesterday asking for additional proof for extended stay. Also will EAD suffice as evidence?
We live in California.

Any ideas on when this hearing is?
Just called up the Senate Judiciary Committee. Today's meeting is already over. They could not relay the hearings on their website due to the sudden change in the rooms. The record of today's meeting is not yet out. We'll have to check on other websites like AILA to see what amendments were included.
Tomorrow's meeting starts at 9 AM.

The idea is very brillinat and this actually benefits the current IV core too.
Usually, people get tired of leading a non-profit, too much of ones personal resources go into it.
A new leadership will bring new energy in form of people getting a title and make them more accountable to needs.
Every current commitee(current IV core) actually is the backbone of a non-profit, cos they carry lots of assets, in terms of connections they have developed, money they have accumulated, goals that they have set, etc...
So the current IV core can support the new commitee and take their help to take the organisation forward.
And as I previously mentioned, the organisation does not or should not cease to exits once our goals are met, they should then be lead by other non-immigrants who will have a whole different set of issues.

for eg. the 2009 members (paid), can vote for the IV president and the committe.
it doesnt make sense for evey EB immigant to go and start a new non-for-profit.

Well, I'm sure you know Employer is the one that needs to file for GC. I think it has been said and done multiple times the various scearios that might ditter a person from pursuing the GC process. Let alone waking up 6th year of his H1B, I'm sure no one is so dumb.

It needs to be handled carefully by USCIS. What happened to the 300K+ DOL Backlog cases that are still being adjudicated at BEC. But the new PERM process got enacted without a hitch. May be something similar would happen with this one too

I dont want to go a step back in the line just cuz someone who had been lethargic all his life just woke up on his last day of his 6th year and goes "Ohh you know what I think I might be interested in a GC" ,when I had planned or had the *intent* to apply for a GC a few years before by applying for LC.
